A recent conversation with my brother Shane...


Shane: What was that car I had in college? Come on, use your freakish memory.

Me: Was it like a Celica or something?

Shane: No...Mom and Dad got the same car at the same time. Cavalier!

Me: You know, just for the record, Mom and Dad never bought me a car.

Shane: Yeah, well, Mom and Dad never gave me an all-expense paid trip to move to the other side of the world to be with some guy they'd never met.

Me: That's completely different. That was like $2,000. Your car was $10,000.

Shane: Dad sent his only daughter off to live in a foreign country with a complete stranger. That's got to be worth at least $8,000."
